What I will work for
Good Roads
Terry is an advocate for multi-use roads and his foresight will continue to influence his road decisions.
As Supervisor of Johnson County, Terry will:
- Lead efforts in road construction decisions to include trails for casual bicycle and recreational use. We are now in an era of high fuel costs where these trails could provide an optional transportation function.
- Promote a road standard more compatible with existing standards in our communities.
- Respect the emotions of residents towards their roads and work for compromises acceptable to county residents.
Good Environment
Our county is growing rapidly, has lost most of our native habitat, and our streams are impaired.
As Supervisor of Johnson County, Terry will:
- Promote the county's Land Use Plan and Sensitive Areas Ordinance.
- Lead efforts to protect and preserve or restore native habitat in the county.
- Expand "summit" meetings to include adjoining counties to address shared issues.
Good Budget
The taxpayers of Johnson County expect fiscal responsibility and openness, especially in the face of economic challenges.
As Supervisor of Johnson County, Terry will:
- Carefully monitor expenses and weigh budget proposals.
- Exercise common-sense during budget requests.
- Assist Boards and Committees, such as the Conservation Board, the Trails Advisory Committee, and the REAP Committee with successful bond issues or grant applications.
